
Creating PDFs from Quark XPress 6 can be done by exporting directly to Postscript and distilling the resulting file in Acrobat Distiller. If you don’t have Acrobat Distiller you may use the built-in Quark PDF export filter, but generally you will get the best results if you use Acrobat Distiller to convert Postscript to PDF.
Method A – Export a Postscript file and use Acrobat Distiller to make a PDF

Download the settings file for Acrobat Distiller 7 and later.

Follow the instructions from Step 1 to install the settings into Acrobat Distiller. Change Quark preferences to export a postscript file instead of directly to PDF.

After creating the Postscript file, follow the instructions from Step 1 to convert that into a print-ready PDF using the JSM PDF7 Hi-JPG Settings in Acrobat Distiller.
